2.Introduction
Graphite electrode which is mainly used green petroleum coke,needle coke as raw meterials,coal tar as binder is made after calcination,batching,mixing,compression,baking,graphitition,machining.
3.Types and applications
In accordance with levels of quality indes,it can be divided into:Universal power,high power,ultra power,mainly be used at steelmaking.
（1）Universal power graphite electrode.It is allowed to use graphite electrode of current density lower than 17A/cm2 and mainly used in common power electric oven like smelting steel, smelting silicon and smelting yellow phosphorus.
（2）Oxidation resistant coating graphite electrode.The surface is coated with graphite electrode of protective layer of oxidation which can form protectibe layer with conductivity as well as resistance of high temperature oxidation,reducing electrode consumption in smelting steel.
（3）High-power graphite electrode .It is allowed to use graphite electrode of current density of 18~25A/cm2 and mainly used in high-power electric arc oven of smelting steel.
（4）Ultra high power garphite .It is allowed to use graphite electrode of current density more than 25A/cm2 and mainly used in ultra high-power electric arc oven of smelting steel.
